I'm back!!
The lake is frozen and so are the fish. Fishing is very slow on LOE . The lake is iced in from the mouth of Shawnee Bay (main channel) down. All bays are frozen for ay least 50% of their length. With all the bays past Shawnee Bay completely frozen. The ice is 8 inches thick in areas. But I wouldn't try walking across the lake. The deep spots and where there is some flow the ice is much thinner.
The colder water temperatures are due to a colder than average winter and the power plant was down for 2 months. It is currently running at 25% capacity.
I don't believe the main channel will open up sooner than the middle of February. I've never seen it iced over past the 3rd week of February.
We just received 2 inches of icy precipitation and 5 inches of snow. Docks with flat or slightly pitched roofs are partially sunk and in the worst case have collapsed. If you need your dock repaired, I'm open for business. Besides building new docks have UBetcha Outdoors be your dock repair service!! All my quotes are free!!!
Hooo, hoooooooooo!
Fish (ice) On!!
