Water Level = 2 inches Above Normal Pool
Water Clarity = Cloudy and Clearing

Summertime patterns are on! Jim was out last weekend and caught bass off the points bottom bouncing worms. One was 19 inches long. Steve was using a top water pattern and killed them as well.

Steve reports:

The Juice and I headed down to LOE and launched at about 6:30 in the evening trying to beat the heat. Within the first 20 minutes of fishing Juice hooked a really nice fish, probably in the area of 3 1/2 to 4 pounds, but it jumped and shook like it was on crack and threw his brown spinner bait about 10 feet. A few casts after that, I was throwing a Grey bellied Ribbit Buzzfrog over the weeds on the shore and caught a pretty nice fish, we forgot to bring our scale but I would guess it at about 4 pounds. From about 7pm untill dark, it was pretty hot topwater action. I landed 6 and Juice landed 3 in about an hour and half. We fished untill 10pm that night but it was so windy that we didnt really get a chance to fish off the points and on the ledges that we wanted to. Also, we caught some really nice crappie out at Crab a few weeks ago. I'm sending some pictures of Juice with a couple slabs and the bass i caught on the frog last night. Were planning on going Tuesday night and launching around 6. All in all, topwater is off the hook in the evening, mostly over the weeds, and stumps that are in 10 or so feet of water. Also, if anyone knows what to throw when night fishing, I would appreciate the info. I've been throwing some big blue worms, and some black and blue jigs, but with little success. O yeah, farmponds have been crazy for bluegill, I've sent another pic with a bluegill haul from a week or so ago.
Do Work,
Steve

Crappie are active in 6 to 12 feet of water. My neighbor is catching them and the patrons of Egyptian Hills Marina reported catching large crappie right off the docks!

Middle South Main Channel – 73
Water Level = Normal Pool
Water Clarity = Murky,Cloudy
Last Rain = 06/03/08

Fishing has been spotty. Crappie and bass have moved into their summertime patterns are are a little slow on the bite. Points and flats are producing the bass. Use rubber worms or finesse baits. Crappie are doing well in the main channel and main channel coves. Jigs or minnows fished slowly at 6 to 8 feet are catching fish. Weedy areas with wood seems to be holding the most fish. Oh by the way did you know that picking wild asparugus can be hazardous to your health?? I’ll follow-up with the story shortly.
