I've been traveling, hunting and just really enjoying life. I'm not at LOE now and won't return until 11/13 in preperation for the deer gun season. But here's a report from 2 avid fishermen and they fished the lake this past weekend!
JD Report
Fishing was so so. I did catch several nice crappie and lost a huge one that I didn't see. While it could have been a cat, it fought like a crappie. Messing with the trolling motor, grabbing the net and fighting pretty high winds, I blew it. Did get a few gills and bass and a gizzard shad all on the tube jigs. Only one bass and the big lost fish came from brush. Every other fish came over the weeds in the main lake. Tried Beaver, my bay, the bay where I launch and up Sugar with out a hit. Water was mid-50s's and other than Sunday it was nice to be on the water. Sunday was warmer, but very high winds with white caps all over.
JG Report
Mike,I have been catching a few (12 in the last several days) "quality" (11+inches) crappies in 4-7 feet of water with weeds on minnows.....on bobbers and some on road runners as well. I have also caught 4 cats one was 26 1/2inches in the same areas on minnows....bass action has been very slow for me as I have been too busy chasing crappie.
Fish On!
